Why aren't the forums attached directly to the main website?
The Province: Cyrodiil forums have had a long history, I think we've had maybe three moves before arriving at the Zetaboards location we've managed to occupy for the past two or so years. We've found the message board to be very versatile and well-suited to our needs. The only drawbacks are the ads and the fact that we cannot fully integrate it with our main website, which uses PHP Fusion.
PHP Fusion does offer its own forum system but it is nowhere near as versatile as Zetaboards and it would require us to move ourselves once again.
Fortunately with the latest revision to the main website and forums we've managed to integrate the two together to offer fairly seamless navigation.
Which should I sign up for, the main website or the forums or both?
If you plan on joining our team, I recommend signing up for the forums first, posting a "showcase" of your work and talents, then signing up here once you've been accepted into the team.
The benefit of having an account here is that you can submit screenshots, links, news, articles, downloads and so on once you've been added to the "modders" group.
If you simply want to follow the progress of this mod, I recommend just signing up for the forums. This will allow you to look at more sections and respond to the various topics.
The only benefit of signing up on the main site for non-modders is that you can use the built-in shout box and make comments on image galleries, news and so on. There isn't too much here that you can't get on the Zetaboards forums as well-this site is intended to be the public front-end to show off our progress and work-the main "community" element remains at Zetaboards.
Why is the navigation bar on the forums aligned to the right side of the screen?
Since our forum is hosted externally, I had to manually recreate the navigation bar using a table in html. Fortunately, Zetaboards allows you to add custom content such as that by editing the "board template". Unfortunately, my knowledge is a bit limited and I have absolutely no idea why the table box is aligned like that. I'd rather have it be identical in appearance to the one on the main site to make things more seamless, but for now I'll have to make do with how it is right now.
